African divas launch catchy love tune

Divas from Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria have come together to record what they call the "ultimate African girl power anthem" - Take Me Higher.

Isis from Kenya, Uganda’s Jackie Chandiru of Gold Digger fame and Nigeria’s queen of pop Waje have collaborated on the three-minute track which has a strong Naija feel to it.

The song was produced by DJ Silvastone and Clarence Peters directed the soon to be released video.

Take Me Higher is based on a woman’s loving relationship with a man, which in turn empowers her to take on the world. The song has been released under Taurus Musik, which is responsible for the fame currently being enjoyed by Zambian hip-hop group Zone Fam.

Isis was recently signed up by Taurus and will soon benefit from the star power already exhibited in her recently released tracks.

Isis’ most recent musical effort is a collaboration with rapper Bamboo, with a song called Tribal Dance.

Jackie is formerly of the Ugandan band Blu 3 and is three years into a successful solo career.

Waje was listed by as one of Nigeria’s Top 10 musicians in 2012 and intends to keep that up in 2013.
