Drake on Billboad New Issue + Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse

13:04 0 Comments
An excerpt of Drake's interview with Billboard has been released. Drake discusses his thoughts on Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse, who name-checked the Toronto rapper, among others.

"I didn't really have anything to say about it," Drake says. "It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That's all it was. I know good and well that Kendrick's not murdering me, at all, in any platform. So when that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the topic."

With his own label OVO Sound in full effect, Drake also touched on the dynamic of his working relationship with Lil Wayne, and how he wants to approach his own artists when the time comes. "Being an artist that's signed to another artist, I understand how much of a representation I am of that artist," he states. "So I want to be extremely selective. I want artists who are, first and foremost, genuinely good people who are good to be around, and second, who have pure talent and will make me look smart for signing them [laughs]."

Reason Why President Jonathan Sacked Youth Minister

05:00 0 Comments

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday confirmed that his decision to sack his erstwhile Minister of Youth Development, Inuwa Abdulkadir, was based on the latter’s mishandling of the National Youth Council of Nigeria’s elections in Makurdi and Minna which resulted in the factionalisation of the council.

on Tuesday, THE PUNCH  reported that investigations showed that the minister must have been sacked on Monday among other reasons because of the allegation of imposition of a candidate at a recent election of the NYCN.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the President said he was “very displeased” by the former minister’s action.

He said Abdulkadir’s failure to provide appropriate leadership towards open and transparent youth council elections was unacceptable to him and his administration.

He said because he was committed to ensuring that the Nigerian youth were given the best possible upbringing and orientation, he expected all officials of his administration to exhibit greater rectitude and sensitivity on issues related to youth development. Continue...

On Saturday August 24, a 14 year old boy beat airline and airport security at Benin airport  and flew in the tyre hole of a Lagos-bound Arik plane. But what makes me to share this is because of what the boy actually thought. he was on his way to the US.

Sources at Benin Airport said Daniel Ikehina ran away from home because he was being maltreated and was trying to escape from his parents when he joined the Arik flight.
