Okada Rider Killed By Police In Lagos + Cops Arrested

On the 20th August 2013, at about 15:00hrs a death of One Okada Rider identify as ‘Olalekan Ajayi ‘M’ occurred at Ojubode Junction along Ayangburen road, Ikorodu.

Chairman, Motorcyclists Association Of Lagos State, MOALS, Kayode Jimoh, who spoke wth P.M.NEWS during a protest organised by the motorcycle riders on Wednesday morning (today), said that the motorcyclists were not going to look the other way while policemen keep killing people unjustly.

A Video Sent in from  shows that even after the killing of deceased Lekan  Ajayi some police men who were on patrol were apprehend by the people. But on hearing from some of the people at the neighborhood, some says the Police ma was killed but what the Video we have got shows is that he was badly beaten.  Information gathered revealed that the deceased Okada Rider was arrested along the ‘restricted’ road by the men of RRS team lead by one Sgt. Aruna AyodejiCPL Samuel Abutu and CPL Okoh Abah.
Protests continued this morning in Ikorodu where the incident happened as okada riders and other sympathisers took to the streets to continue where they left off yesterday.

What Caused the Killing:  Further information gathered revealed that the team of the RRS Men arrested the Okada Rider and refused arresting resulting to the killing of the rider by one CPL Okoh Abah who fired the gunshot and killed him immediately.

Thereafter, the team of RRS were arrested and detained at Ikorodu Division and other one at Owutu Division. One was transferred to RRS headquarter at Ikeja while the body of the late Lekan  Ajayi were deposited at Ikorodu Mortuary.
