Six-year-old girl dies after being hit by mother's car

A six-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car driven by her mother.

Bolutito Shodipe was struck by the car, which her mother was parking outside West Hounslow tube station, at about 09:40 BST on Wednesday.

Attempts were made to resuscitate her at the scene but she was later pronounced dead at hospital.

Accoring to BBC News, a statement from Bolutito's family said she was the eldest daughter and they were "coming to terms with this terrible accident".

Det Ch Insp Iain Miller, from British Transport Police, said: "It is clear that both mother and child arrived together in the car park and the accident occurred during a parking manoeuvre."

Police are investigating the incident.
