Deputy Director in Lagos State's Ministry of Environment, Mrs.Yetunde Onanuga, yesterday, announced as the running mate for the All progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State, governorship candidate Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Apparently, Onanuga will serve out what is left of Amosun's first term as the deputy governor as incumbent, Prince Segun Adesegun, has fallen out irredeemably with the governor and has pitched his tent with the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

State Chairman of the party, Chief Roqib Adeniji announced Onanuga, 54, as the running mate to the leaders and members of the party during a stakeholders meeting held in Abeokuta. He said the choice of Onanuga was carefully made by the party.

According to Adeniji who was flanked by the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the party believes that the choice of Onanuga will enhance the victory of the party at the poll.

"I want to present Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga to you all as the running mate to the incumbent governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, she will run alongside him in the 2015 governorship election. "She is well accepted by the governor", he said.

Speaking shortly after his running mate was disclosed, Amosun described the event as long expected.
Amosun said: "Today is a special day to me. All the points raised by the elders in the party are well taken, when the time comes we will do the needful."
