Nike Terminate Boxer Pacquiao Contract Over verbal Attack On gay People

Manufacturing Brand Nike has terminated its contractual relationship with boxer Manny Pacquiao following his recent comments about Gay people’.

A statement by the apparel giants insisted the company did not the boxer’s comments lightly. “We find Manny Pacquiao’s comments abhorrent,” the statement reads. “Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community. We no longer have a relationship with Manny Pacquiao.”

The boxer made this comment in an interview with TV5 in the Philippines, Pacquiao said gay people were worse than animals as animals do not mate with the same sex. “It’s common sense. Do you see animals mating with the same sex? Animals are better because they can distinguish male from female. If men mate with men and women mate with women they are worse than animals.”

Although the famous boxer has apologised through his various social media accounts and this can also been seen in a video he posted on his Instagram page where he also stated "I'm sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I've hurt. God Bless! "
