Miss Universe 2016: African Queen rocked their Best National Costume! See the Xclusives in their National Costumes & Preliminary Opening Outfits

As the day draw nearer for the finale of the 65th MISS UNIVERSE, Our African queens definitely stole the spotlight at the Preliminary Competition which went down in Manila yesterday. At the Mall of Asia Arena, all 86 contestants competed in swimwear and evening gown in front of a panel of preliminary judges. The scores from the night’s event along with an interview portion determine the Top 12 during the Miss Universe broadcast. The Preliminary Competition was hosted by Pia Wurtzbach and Filipino-British actor Derek Ramsay.

The African Contenstants were were fashioned by Sherri Hill and footwear by Chinese Laundry during the opening of the Competition at the Mall and also debuts their National Costume on stage at the Mall of Asia Arena on Thursday, January 25, 2017.

The contestants have been touring, filming, rehearsing and preparing to compete for the Miss Universe crown in the Philippines. Tune in to the FOX telecast at 7:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed on Sunday, January 29, live from the Philippines to see who will become Miss Universe. HO/The Miss Universe Organization.

The finale of the 65th edition of the annual pageantry will be held on January 30, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines where Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines will crown her successor at the end of the event.

As the release date gets closer, the official trailer for the JAF Alliance’s first effort - Something Wicked has been released and the upcoming movie promises action, drama and suspense.

Directed by Yemi Morafa, ‘Something Wicked’ is the story of a widow (Hauwa), whose recently orphaned nephew (Abel), moves into her Lagos home after the murder of his parents in a sectarian crisis in a Northern Nigerian city.

The family's bond is tested when they are thrown in a life-threatening situation and we see how easily misunderstandings lead to misconceptions and premonitions are sometimes the only warning we get, in this game of life and death.

The film stars Iretiola Doyle, Adesua Etomi, Okey Uzoeshi, Gabriel Afolayan, Ivie Okujaye Egboh, Beverly Naya, Timini Egbuson, Omowunmi Dada, Keira Hewatch, Bisola Aiyeola and Emem Ufot.

Afro-Soul Diva' Aramide Holds Autograph Session In Abuja For SUITCASE Album

After the success of her previous autograph sessions in Lagos and Ibadan, award winning Afro-Soul Diva, Aramide brought her SUITCASE to Abuja last weekend for an autograph session with her fans.


The session, which took place at Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja, was filled with fans and friends of Aramide. She gave her fans the opportunity to interact with her, take pictures and get autographed copies of the SUITCASE album.

“As you know, this is my first Album and I am really excited about sharing my SUITCASE to the world. It is all about my journey and experiences about life, and there’s nothing like sharing that with the people who love what I do, and those people are my fans and friends.”
Aramide explains that the purpose of these sessions is to promote her recently released album, SUITCASE, which was released on November 22nd.

CBN Medical Director Dr. Faozat Bello Gives Her Mother A Befitting Final Burial (Photos)

Parents are to be celebrated and be grateful to all the time, during their lifetime and afterlife. In African generally, the death of a parent i.e. A Father or a Mother which is of age is always celebrated and also appreciated for their contribution and welfare during their life spent. This makes The Director Medical Services Department at Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Faozat Bello gave her mother Alhaja Khadijat Olasimbo Ajoke-Ade Matesun a well befitting final burial in Ijebu-Ode, Nigeria.

The 40th day & final burial ceremony took place on Saturday 14th January 2017. Alhaja Khadijat Matesun died on the 4th of December 2016, at 1.20am. She was 84 years old. May Her soul rest in Peace.
